The player will literally feel the monsters. Silent Hill: Townfall will surprise with DualSense usage
Thanks to DualSense, players will literally be able to feel the footsteps of approaching monsters through haptic feedback.
The action of Silent Hill: Townfall has been moved to a remote foggy island in Scotland to create the most detailed and authentic atmosphere possible. According to director Jon McKellan, the region's dense fogs perfectly match the series' aesthetic.
The main innovation will be the first-person view. Instead of the usual radio, players will use a portable CRT receiver with a screen. The device will help navigate by visual and sound signals, hide from enemies and solve puzzles, and its unstable analog technology should enhance the feeling of anxiety.
The developers promise freedom of choice between combat and stealth gameplay, as well as multiple endings depending on the player's decisions.
On PS5, DualSense capabilities will be utilized: thanks to haptic feedback, you can feel the footsteps of approaching monsters, and motion sensors will allow you to physically control the map and receiver. The atmosphere will be complemented by 3D sound and detailed audio, forcing you to rely on your hearing.
Silent Hill: Townfall will be released on PS5 and PC on September 24, 2026.
