Amidst the restructuring of Microsoft's gaming division, a new priority for Xbox's development has been identified. Minecraft will become one of the main pillars of future growth.

Xbox head Asha Sharma announced in an internal letter that the company intends to increase investment in Minecraft's development, transforming the game into a leading global platform for content creators and the gaming community.

This strategy aligns with Microsoft's global plan to expand its audience to a billion players. Unlike many other company franchises, Minecraft is available on almost all platforms, including PlayStation and Nintendo consoles.

It is this multi-platform nature that allows Microsoft to generate significant revenue not only from users within its own ecosystem but also from players on competitors' devices.

The company also intends to expand Minecraft's presence beyond gaming. Microsoft expects that films and other projects based on the franchise will help attract millions of new users to its universe.
