It was expected that a major update with the first season would be released for Escape from Tarkov in July, but the developers didn't make it in time. Now, Battlestate Games has announced that they plan to release the update on Monday:

Tomorrow, August 3rd, at 9:00 AM Moscow time, we plan to install update 1.1.0.0 for #EscapefromTarkov. The installation will take 6 to 8 hours but may be extended if necessary. The game will be unavailable during this time.

With this update, Escape from Tarkov will begin its first season, titled "Kord Breach," and a battle pass will be introduced. It will be available for free to players not only in PvP but also in PvE.

The creators of Escape from Tarkov have not yet published the description of update 1.1.0.0, but they have revealed some details earlier. For example, Battlestate Games will rework the side quest system:

Among other things, the requirements for obtaining the "Collector" quest will change. Many side quests will be removed from the list of requirements, with only a few remaining – for example, "Gunsmith." Instead, the conditions will include 4 LL (loyalty level) with all traders and a separate reputation requirement with the Fence.

A new achievement will be awarded for obtaining the "Kappa" secure container under the updated rules.
