Single Player Tarkov has existed for many years, but now questions have arisen about it.

Recently, the creator of the popular SP Tarkov (Single Player Tarkov) modification announced its discontinuation after receiving a notice from Battlestate Games. According to him, the developers cited copyright infringement.

DrakiaXYZ addressed the community:

We received a “trademark infringement notice” from BSG regarding the use of the term “Tarkov” in our project's domain and website.

He stated that SPT Forge, the sp-tarkov.com domain, and the patch hosting infrastructure would be shut down by August 12. On the day of SPT Forge's closure, the GitHub repository will be renamed and archived to remove all direct mentions of the name “Tarkov” and other trademarks. The code will still be available for “forking” from the archived repositories.

DrakiaXYZ clarified that the project's source code will remain online, and in the future, other enthusiasts may try to revive it:

This is the end of the SPT project in its current form and under the current team. However, all source code will remain available if any team in the future wishes to continue where we left off.

It is noteworthy that SP Tarkov has existed for a long time and was very popular among Escape from Tarkov fans who did not want to play PvP and desired a flexible PvE mode.

The modification's closure comes amidst the approaching launch of a battle pass in Tarkov, which will operate in PvP and official PvE game modes.
