The reasons for Chiang's departure are not disclosed at this time. Microsoft has also not yet announced who will permanently fill her position.

Xbox COO and former Minecraft head Helen Chiang is leaving Microsoft. This was announced by the head of the gaming division, Asha Sharma, in an internal company memo.

Chiang worked at Microsoft for 21 years. Before being appointed Xbox COO in July, she led the Minecraft team, responsible for the development of one of the company's largest gaming franchises.
