The creators of the new Street Fighter adaptation have released a short teaser, showing Akuma, played by WWE star Roman Reigns, for the first time. The character appears in the video for only a few seconds: he enters the battlefield and says: "Where's my real opponent?"
The rest of the teaser consists of previously released footage of Ryu and Blanka's fight. In particular, the video once again shows the moment where Ryu, played by Andrew Koji, uses his signature "Hadouken." The teaser is very short and has not yet appeared on YouTube, but it can be watched on the official Street Fighter Movie account on Twitter/X.
The film's plot unfolds in 1993. After a long-standing feud, Ryu and Ken Masters will reunite thanks to Chun-Li, who invites both to the World Warrior tournament. However, a conspiracy by M. Bison lies behind the competition, forcing the former friends to confront each other and their own past.
The film will also feature Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Callan Liang as Chun-Li, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, and Jason Momoa as Blanka. The film is directed by Kitao Sakurai.
The premiere of "Street Fighter" is scheduled for October 16, 2026.
