Dave Bautista is in talks for the role of Kratos in Amazon and Sony's God of War series. This was reported by Variety, citing its own sources.
Production of the first season is currently on hold due to an injury to Ryan Hurst, who plays Kratos. The actor suffered a serious biceps injury and underwent surgery. According to media reports, recovery could take up to a year, so Amazon has begun searching for a new lead actor.
Bautista could be a suitable candidate for Amazon MGM Studios: the actor has already collaborated with the studio multiple times and is in good physical shape after preparing for the filming of Chad Stahelski's "Highlander" remake. Amazon plans to resume production this fall to maintain the planned schedule.
Earlier, Adam Scherr, known by his stage name Braun Strowman, also hinted at possible participation in the project, but separate reports about his auditions did not appear in the media.
