Battlefield of War: Gears of War: E-Day to Feature Realistic Ballistics Simulation
The Coalition studio shared new details about Gears of War: E-Day ahead of the multiplayer beta launch, which starts on August 6 for users who pre-ordered. Players will have access to Versus and Horde Siege modes, and the developers also revealed many changes to the weapon system and gameplay.
One of the main innovations will be a completely redesigned ballistics system. Now all weapons use bullet flight simulation, and shots have a travel time. According to The Coalition, for the first time in the series' history, tracers and hit effects fully correspond to the actual projectile trajectory. This means that when shooting at long distances, players will have to lead their shots if the target is beyond the weapon's effective range.
The developers also made a number of changes to enhance realism. The recoil of some automatic rifles has been adjusted, and optical sights, including sniper rifles, now have a natural sway, making aiming more difficult. Additionally, players can now switch shoulders even while aiming down sights.
