Games Workshop announced that free terrain templates for the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop game are now available in four new styles, matching the bases of miniatures.
Warhammer 40,000 missions use a standardized set of terrain zones. This ensures the battlefield has the correct amount and combination of terrain elements.
Until now, they were available in a dusty brown color, reflecting the fierce war for Armageddon. However, battles take place on a variety of planets, so now you can download template files for terrain zones in four common colors: "Death World: Jungle," "Imperial World," "Maelstrom World," and "Death World: Snow."
They are perfect for armies whose bases are decorated with Verdia Veldt tufts, Astrogranite texture pastes, Martian Ironcrust, or Valhallan Blizzard. Matching terrain is a great way to add extra polish to an army, and also helps terrain zones blend harmoniously into a thematic game board.
All you need to do is print these templates on A3 paper, otherwise they will be completely incorrect sizes. You can find them all, along with the existing Armageddon-themed terrain templates, on the Warhammer Community downloads page.
