Game Freak to Release Series of Updates for Beast of Reincarnation After Mixed Launch
Developers are listening carefully to criticism.
Game Freak studio announced that Beast of Reincarnation will receive a series of updates aimed at addressing players' main complaints.
The first patch is planned for release within the next week. It will include camera improvements, narrative pacing changes, increased text size, various bug fixes, and a change to the default graphics mode – instead of cinematic mode, the game will launch in performance mode. Developers note that the update's content may still change.
Additionally, Game Freak confirmed that it will continue to refine the story structure and pacing even after the first patch, based on community feedback.
The studio's statement comes amidst a mixed audience reaction. As of the publication of this material, Beast of Reincarnation has an average score of 73 on Metacritic, and on Steam, user reviews remain mixed: only 53% of over 1.7 thousand reviews recommend the game.
Many players complain about the very aspects that the developers have already promised to improve, including camera work and story presentation. At the same time, other common complaints include insufficient enemy variety, unmemorable characters, and weak motivation to explore the game world.
