Layoffs begin at Halo Studios after the release of Halo: Campaign Evolved
The studio has not yet officially commented on the scale of the new wave of layoffs or disclosed the number of employees affected.
Several Halo Studios employees have reported layoffs at the company. Among those dismissed was producer Nick Trautman, who had worked on the Halo franchise for six and a half years.
According to him, over the years he had managed to avoid several previous waves of layoffs, but the current cuts affected him as well. Trautman noted that he has warm feelings for the Halo series and his former colleagues, calling what is happening "the harsh reality of the gaming industry". During his time there, he participated in supporting teams responsible for art direction, network technologies, localization, and narrative.
Paul Morris, who served as a coach, also announced the end of his work at Halo Studios. He clarified that he worked at the studio on a contract basis. Morris said that his collaboration ended immediately after the successful launch of Halo: Campaign Evolved, and acknowledged that the gaming market is currently experiencing one of its most difficult periods in terms of job searching.
In addition, software engineer Caleb Lawrence also updated his profile, indicating that he is looking for a new job, which indirectly confirms the ongoing layoffs.
