Filming of the third season of "Daredevil: Born Again" completed - fans fear the series' cancellation
Marvel had planned to release new seasons annually, but the cancellation of "Wonder Man" after its renewal for a second season has heightened concerns about the project's future.
Marvel Studios has completed filming for the third season of the series "Daredevil: Born Again". Showrunner Dario Scardapane announced the end of production, thanking the cast and crew of the project:
"Sorry for the long silence, but filming for the third season of 'Daredevil: Born Again' is complete. Thank you, Marvel, and also to the magnificent cast and crew members who made this season something very, very, very special. Every day I am amazed by the talent of the people I am fortunate enough to work with. I can't wait for you to see what all these crazy minds have come up with."
Amidst the completion of production, fans have once again begun to ponder the future of the series. Previously, the studio management had planned to release new seasons annually, but Marvel has not yet announced a fourth season, and the recent cancellation of "Wonder Man" showed that even preliminary approval for a continuation no longer guarantees its release. The second season of the series with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was canceled after contracts were signed with actors and preparations for script work had begun.
The third season will once again bring together the heroes of Marvel's "street-level" lineup. In the second season, Krysten Ritter returned to her role as Jessica Jones, and the continuation will feature Luke Cage and Iron Fist, played by Mike Colter and Finn Jones. Jessica Henwick also discussed returning to the role of Colleen Wing but declined, as she was not satisfied with the proposed storyline for the character.
The premiere of new episodes of "Daredevil: Born Again" is scheduled for March 2027.
