It seems the heroes will be snowboarding in the new season.

The creators of the anime "SK8 the Infinity" have shared the first details about the second season. During a holiday broadcast dedicated to "∞ Day", a new illustration was shown featuring the main characters in winter clothing and marked "Season 2". This is all the creators could present so far, but director Hiroko Utsumi assured fans that production has not stopped:

"We haven't reached the stage where we can show you anything real yet, but we still wanted to share at least a small detail about the second season. So I'll reveal one little secret: it takes place in winter! Winter in SK∞… which means SK∞ might look something like this! Maybe. After all, the possibilities are infinite. Work on the second season is gradually progressing, so please wait a little longer for it."

The second season of "SK8 the Infinity" was announced back in August 2022, along with an OVA. The four-episode special "SK8 the Infinity: Extra Part" was released in 2025, but no details about a full continuation have emerged since then.

The anime's plot centers on high school student Reki, who is passionate about underground skateboard races called "S", which take place on a winding track in an abandoned mine. One day, Reki brings Langa, who has returned from Canada, to the races. Langa had never skateboarded before but was a snowboarder. Thanks to years of experience, Langa quickly adapts and becomes one of the strongest participants in the competitions. Now, the winter setting hints that in the second season, the heroes might also get into snowboarding. In that case, it will be Langa's turn to share his experience with Reki.

The premiere date for the second season has not yet been announced.
