Marvel is preparing two secret special presentations for 2027 - insider
It seems Marvel fans will have something to watch in between the two Avengers movies.
Reputable insider James Mac reported that Marvel Studios is developing two special presentations for Disney+, scheduled to premiere in 2027.
According to his information, one project will be dedicated to a single character, while the second will focus on a team of heroes. The names of the participants, plot details, and exact release dates have not yet been disclosed.
Earlier rumors surfaced about a possible special presentation dedicated to Mystique, and insider Daniel Richtman mentioned that filming for a secret project would begin in January, with Ahmet Abdul – the Living Monolith – supposedly being the hero.
The Special Presentation format allows Marvel to tell standalone stories for which a full-fledged series would be excessive, and the production of a feature film and its theatrical release would be unjustified. The first such project was the black-and-white horror "Werewolf by Night," released in 2022, which introduced audiences to Jack Russell, Elsa Bloodstone, and Man-Thing.
That same year saw the release of "The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special," and in 2026, Marvel returned to the format with "The Punisher: The Last Kill," in which Jon Bernthal reprised his role as Frank Castle before returning in "Spider-Man: New Day."
Marvel Studios has not officially announced any special presentations for 2027 yet. However, the company previously stated that no films would be released between "Avengers: Doctor Doom" and "Avengers: Secret Wars." This restriction does not apply to special presentations, so they can fill the gap between the two main blockbusters of Phase Six.
