Dafne Keen in talks to return as X-23 - but not for the "X-Men" reboot
The actress previously admitted that she was ready to return to the role of Laura Kinney even for five minutes of screen time.
Insider MyTimeToShineHello reported that Dafne Keen is in talks to return to the role of Laura Kinney, also known as X-23, in one of Marvel Studios' upcoming projects. The source later clarified that this is not about the upcoming "X-Men" reboot.
In that case, it could be about participating in the next "Avengers" films. As early as 2024, insider Alex Perez claimed that X-23 would appear in future films of the series, and in 2025, he again hinted at Laura's return along with Deadpool and Wolverine. Principal photography for "Avengers: Doctor Doom" has already been completed, so "Secret Wars" seems a more likely option, but Marvel Studios has not confirmed this information.
Keen herself previously said that she would gladly continue to play the character:
"I would be happy to come back. There are so many great comics written about her that could be adapted. It would be a dream come true. I would never get tired of playing her, so I would agree even if they called me for just five minutes."
Keen debuted as Laura in 2017's "Logan" and returned to the role seven years later in "Deadpool & Wolverine."
"Avengers: Doctor Doom" will be released on December 18, 2026, and "Secret Wars" will premiere in 2027.
