"Always Vigilant": The Working Title of "The Batman - Part II" Hinted at the Court of Owls' Appearance

News 0

The working title for "The Batman – Part II" is Semper Vigilans — a Latin phrase that can be translated as "Always Vigilant" or "Ever Watchful." It previously appeared in the Production Weekly database, and now the inscription has been spotted on crew vehicles in Glasgow.

The title has sparked a new wave of speculation about the appearance of the Court of Owls — a secret society that, in the comics, has controlled Gotham from the shadows for centuries and watched over its inhabitants. The possible connection is indicated by the lyrics of a children's rhyme about the Court of Owls:

"Beware the Court of Owls, that watches all the time, ruling Gotham from a shadowed perch, behind granite and lime. They watch you at your hearth, they watch you in your bed, speak not a whispered word of them, or they'll send the Talon for your head."

DC Studios, Warner Bros., and director Matt Reeves have yet to reveal the film's plot or even the characters of the new cast members. What roles Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, and other newcomers will play is officially unknown, although rumors about their roles regularly surface.

"The Batman – Part II" is scheduled to premiere on February 18, 2028.
