The actor has been shortlisted for the role of the new 007 agent.

Jack Lowden has become one of the main candidates for the role of James Bond. Writer and producer Richard Osman spoke about this on The Rest Is Entertainment podcast, citing his own sources:

"I've heard the name Jack Lowden. That certainly doesn't mean the role is already his. He's being seriously considered. I think he would be great."

According to Osman, Lowden is suitable for the role by age and has Daniel Craig's energy. The actor is known for the series "Slow Horses," Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk," the drama "Benediction," and the film "Mary Queen of Scots." He will also play Mr. Darcy in the new Netflix adaptation of "Pride and Prejudice."

World of Reel suggests that Lowden has advanced to the next stage of selection and may go to auditions with Jacob Elordi. According to their information, five or six candidates remain on the list. Amazon MGM has not confirmed this information, but, according to producer Amy Pascal, the new Bond could be chosen by the end of 2026:

"I think the end of the year is a very likely timeframe. We are approaching the process very methodically. After Daniel Craig, the bar is set high, so the result must be truly new, exciting, and captivating."

The new "James Bond" will be directed by "Dune" director Denis Villeneuve, with the script written by "Peaky Blinders" creator Steven Knight. Filming is expected to begin in 2027, with the premiere anticipated in 2028.
