Japan's National Team to Begin Battle for Final Spots - Trailer for "The New Prince of Tennis" Sequel

Before the World Championship final, the Japanese national team must determine its strongest players.

The creators of the anime "The New Prince of Tennis: U-17 World Cup" have released a trailer and poster for the sequel, subtitled "Qualifying Match for Final Roster Spots."

After defeating Germany, the Japanese national team advanced to the U-17 World Championship final, where they will face Spain. However, before that, coach Mifune will conduct an internal selection: the tennis players will have to compete against each other to determine the lineup for the decisive match of the tournament.

The sequel is being produced by M.S.C. studio. Yoshinobu Tokumoto returns as director, Mitsutaka Hirota is responsible for the series composition, Akiharu Ishii oversees character design and animation direction, and Chihiro Tamaki composes the music.

The new episodes will premiere on September 30, 2026.
