The Simpsons: Hit & Run "will return in some form or another" - says The Simpsons creator
Recently, players once again remembered the "GTA about The Simpsons" that was released more than 20 years ago on consoles, as well as PC. At the D23 event, they asked about a sequel to The Simpsons: Hit & Run. One of the event participants was interested in whether a second "Hit & Run" could appear, as a new full-length "The Simpsons" movie is currently in development.
Matt Selman, showrunner of "The Simpsons," replied: "That would definitely be a pleasant surprise." He is also the co-writer of the original Hit & Run and another game, The Simpsons: Road Rage.
The Simpsons creator Matt Groening added:
I don't know if I'm saying too much right now, but I think the original game will return in some form or another.
However, Selman immediately added after his colleague: "Or... no" and quickly changed the subject — recalling how some criticized the game's title based on the franchise:
By the way, one of the first "The Simpsons" games was The Simpsons: Road Rage. And people said: "You can't call it Road Rage — that will encourage aggressive driving." And we still called it that, and when the next game came out — with the subtitle Hit & Run, no one had any problems.
An official remake or re-release of The Simpsons: Hit & Run has not yet been presented. However, "The Simpsons" periodically appear in video games, for example, there was recently a collaboration with Fortnite.
