
Feature-length "Takopi's Original Sin" to hit theaters in November - trailer with premiere date
The hit 2025 sci-fi drama is preparing for its big screen release.
The feature-length version of the anime "Takopi's Original Sin," subtitled "Thank You, Until Tomorrow," will be released in Japanese cinemas on November 27, 2026.
The film will combine all six episodes of the original series and supplement them with new scenes that will expand the story. The volume of additional material and the duration of the feature-length version have not yet been disclosed.
"Takopi's Original Sin" tells the story of Takopi, an alien who arrives on Earth from a happy planet to bring joy to people. On Earth, he meets a schoolgirl named Shizuka, who faces domestic violence and cruel bullying. Takopi tries to help the girl, but he poorly understands human psychology and the complexity of relationships between people.
The film is produced by ENISHIYA studio. Director and lead screenwriter Shinya Ino will return to his roles, and Kurumi Mamiya and Reina Ueda will once again voice Takopi and Shizuka, respectively.
