Atari and Nightdive Studios have announced the release date for SiN Reloaded — a revamped version of the cult retro-shooter SiN. The game will be available on September 24 and will offer reworked graphics, modern control schemes, and an additional campaign, Wages of Sin.

The action of SiN Reloaded takes place in a dystopian future. Players will take control of Colonel John R. Blade, a security consultant who confronts his arch-nemesis — Dr. Elexis Sinclaire. The head of SinTEK Industries begins distributing a DNA-altering drug on the city streets, after which Blade has to fight an army of genetically modified mutants.

SiN Reloaded will include the original SiN and the additional mission pack SiN: Wages of Sin. Both games will be adapted for modern hardware using the KEX Engine, which Nightdive regularly uses for re-releasing classic games.

The developers promise significant visual improvements. The game will feature HD textures and models, support for resolutions up to 4K and frame rates up to 144 frames per second, anti-aliasing, as well as updated 2D interface elements and menus. The maps have also been reworked to preserve the original design but make the gameplay more comfortable for modern players.
