Fans have long wondered how the Avengers will react to Doctor Doom's resemblance to Tony Stark.

David Harbour will return as Red Guardian in "Avengers: Doctor Doom". During an interview with Variety, the actor was asked to deliver one of his character's lines without any context. Harbour pointed at someone in front of him and, with a Russian accent, declared:

"You... Tony Stark."

The actor did not specify whether he was actually quoting the script or just joking. However, these three words were enough to get fans talking again about one of the main questions surrounding the film: how the heroes will react to Doctor Doom's face. The villain is played by Robert Downey Jr., so characters familiar with Tony Stark should notice the obvious resemblance.

Marvel has not yet explained why Doom looks like the deceased Iron Man or if there is any plot connection between them, but Joe Russo promised that Robert Downey Jr.'s unusual casting in the role will make sense:

"I'm not giving anything away. It will all become clear when you watch the films."

Anthony Russo then added that Doom, as played by Downey, will be "a completely new character that audiences can't even guess at yet." Since the directors spoke of "films," some of the answers may only appear in "Avengers: Secret Wars," which will be released on December 17, 2027.
