Subnautica 2 Developers Helped Clean a Real Ocean - This is How They Celebrated Player Activity
The creators of the underwater survival game not only provided financial aid but also personally cleaned up a beach.
Unknown Worlds Entertainment recently announced a Subnautica 2 x The Ocean Cleanup collaboration. The developers helped the real ocean.
On behalf of the game's community, they donated $100,000 to the non-profit organization The Ocean Cleanup, which develops and scales solutions to rid the world's oceans of plastic:
This collaboration is very important to us. The team has always cared about the state of the world's oceans, and we were happy to support The Ocean Cleanup during the first game. With Subnautica 2, we continue on our chosen path and pay tribute to what we have created together with the community.
The effort wasn't limited to financial donations. The creators of Subnautica 2 showed how some team members made a personal contribution – they took equipment and went to beaches in their hometowns:
Subnautica 2 is currently being developed in "early access" format. The Unknown Worlds Entertainment team recently released a major update for the game with useful features, such as voice chat and reviving other players.
