Ahead of the extended Grand Theft Auto VI showcase on Netflix, the internet continues to actively discuss recent game leaks.

Former Rockstar North Technical Director Obbe Vermeij urged players not to attach too much importance to Grand Theft Auto VI leaks.

Last week, a group or individual under the pseudonym CyberLeek published alleged GTA 6 materials, including gameplay videos and map images. Following this, Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games' parent company, issued subpoenas to Microsoft, Discord, and GitHub in connection with the dissemination of "stolen content." The very fact of these actions confirmed that at least some of the published information is indeed related to Rockstar materials.

Nevertheless, Vermeij believes the situation is greatly exaggerated. He urged everyone to "calm down" and called the leaks "a nothingburger".

According to the former Rockstar employee, the company intentionally keeps its games under the strictest possible control and keeps their details secret longer than other publishers. Vermeij believes that in this case, it was simply that some materials prematurely became publicly available.
