CDPR left fans without Russian voice acting, and GamesVoice hinted at localization for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past
Some players hope that Russian voice acting will still appear in some form.
Recently, the developers of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt showed a new expansion, Songs of the Past (or "Ballads of the Past" in Russian localization). Fans' fears were confirmed — the DLC will not have official Russian voice acting.
CD Projekt RED explained this by stating that the company ceased cooperation with "tax residents of Russia and Belarus." The text, as before, will be fully translated, and Russian voice acting will remain in the main game and its first two expansions. When launching the expansion, the audio will automatically switch to Polish.
GamesVoice noticed this and hinted that voice acting might still appear:
At Gamescom 2026, the first footage of the "Ballads of the Past" expansion for the RPG "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" was shown. Official Russian dubbing is not announced. But that doesn't mean it won't happen. Think about it.
So far, the localizers have not opened a fundraiser for voice acting for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past expansion.
Recently, GamesVoice successfully raised funds for the production of voice acting for the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion.
