DayZ to Get Largest Map and New Mechanics - Badlands Expansion Release Date Announced
Bohemia Interactive recently reminded players about the DayZ Badlands expansion. The developers released a trailer with a selection of gameplay footage and announced the DLC's release date.
Players in the Badlands DLC can expect the largest official map: 267 square kilometers of desert lands. From the perspective of the DayZ world's geography, the territory is located west of Chernarus.
In this region, DayZ Badlands players will face a dry climate and drought. New infected will be introduced, as well as a special mechanic called Rebuilding – certain houses can be restored or barricaded.
The new region also features thematic gear and items:
Your thirst will not be easily quenched – neither by the arid land nor by the few wells that survived the war. However, in this scorching heat, you will not be defenseless. You will be able to adapt using clothing, items, and firearms typical of this region.
