Nvidia released a driver that actually boosts RTX 50 performance

Nvidia has released Game Ready Driver 616.56, which genuinely boosts the performance of GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards - in some tests, the increase reaches 21.7%.

Typically, Nvidia driver updates are related to optimization for specific games, but this time the manufacturer claims an overall performance increase. Initial community tests confirm the improvements.

On the GeForce RTX 5080 in 3DMark DirectX Raytracing, the increase exceeds 8%. Steel Nomad on Vulkan gains 2.5%, Speedway – 1.8%. In Blender 5.2.0, performance increased by 6.1%, and in Cinebench R26 – by 6.7%. Geekbench 7 showed a particularly noticeable result: OpenCL accelerated by 21.7%, CUDA – by 5.5%.

In real games, the increase is more modest. Dying Light 2 and Horizon: Forbidden West show approximately 2–2.5% more frames per second. This is not a revolution, although for a regular driver update, the result looks good.
