Escape from Tarkov Developers Show Reworked "Lighthouse" - Mines Removed, BTR and Cover Added
Now USEC are also in the sights of the Rogues, and PMC spawns will be better covered.
Recently, Battlestate Games boss Nikita Buyanov published several screenshots of the reworked "Lighthouse" from Escape from Tarkov. Now the developers have presented a small gameplay teaser and revealed additional details. The location itself will change, and some things will be abandoned:
The most noticeable difference in the new Lighthouse will be the placement of the Rogues: their base will move from the sewage treatment plant to the chalet area. Thus, the extensive area of workshops and the space between them will become much more accessible for visiting, finding valuable loot, or tactical maneuvers.
- The chalet will become a fortified position, surrounded by Rogue observation posts.
- An improvised UN checkpoint will appear on the central part of the highway passing by the chalet — an important cover in a previously completely exposed position.
- New small points of interest will appear throughout the location: Rogue caches, abandoned strongholds, observation posts, and an underground route under the rocks.
The developers noted that they have worked on isolating PMC spawns: new rocks or vegetation have been added at some points, designed to provide more room for maneuver at the start of the raid.
- A BTR will patrol "Lighthouse". Its route will run along the main road, passing through the village and the territory of the sewage treatment plants.
- Anti-personnel mines will be removed from the location — with the exception of those used to restrict the available play zone and limit passage to the Watchman's peninsula.
In addition, the Rogues' attitude towards PMCs will change. There will be no more preferences for USEC — both factions' fighters will be fired upon to kill.
The release of the update with the new version of "Lighthouse" in Escape from Tarkov is expected in September.
