End of an Era at Housemarque: Co-founder Leaves After 31 Years

Housemarque has been around for many years, and in recent years, the studio has particularly captured the attention of players thanks to its PlayStation games. Now, the team, which released Saros on PS5 a few months ago, is losing one of its two founders.

Ilari Kuittinen is leaving the studio he helped create 31 years ago. In an official statement, the developer announced his last day at the company after Sami "Haxu" Hakala took over as managing director on July 1.

However, Kuittinen is not planning to retire. After 33 years in the gaming industry, he plans to take an extended break. The statement also hints that he may continue to work as a consultant in the future.
