Sony has published a new basic PlayStation policy dedicated to combating harassment and aggressive behavior from customers. The document appeared on the Japanese PlayStation website amid recent player dissatisfaction with a number of the company's decisions.

Sony emphasized that it strives to provide customers with quality and fair support, as well as to take their feedback into account. However, users should not jeopardize the “dignity and safety” of employees.

We will firmly oppose such actions and strive to build healthy and sustainable relationships, respecting both our customers and employees.

PlayStation reserves the right to limit or completely terminate customer service if it deems it necessary to protect its employees. In the event of serious incidents, Sony also intends to cooperate with the police, lawyers, and other relevant organizations.

In the published document, the company listed examples of behavior that may be considered customer harassment. These include repeated or excessively prolonged demands, unreasonable demands for compensation or apologies, insults, threats, and defamation.

The policy also covers demands unrelated to PlayStation products or services, intimidation of employees, coercion into humiliating acts, discriminatory or sexual behavior, and personal attacks on individual employees.

In addition, Sony specifically warns that it is forbidden to visit offices and other company-related facilities without permission to demand a personal meeting or assistance.

At the same time, PlayStation emphasizes that the list provided is not exhaustive: other forms of behavior may also be recognized as harassment depending on the circumstances.
