Geralt's Voice Actor Explains Why Voicing The Witcher 3 Expansion Again Is a Pleasure

Doug Cockle admitted that voicing Geralt again in "Ballads of the Past" expansion felt like "stepping into a warm bath."

Doug Cockle, the English voice of Geralt, said that returning to the role of the Witcher after 20 years feels like "stepping into a warm bath."

Cockle has been voicing Geralt since the first game in the series and has returned to the role for the third expansion of The Witcher 3 – "Ballads of the Past."

In an interview, the actor admitted:

It's always exciting to get into Geralt's character. He's a character I know very, very well, so returning to that role is always a pleasure. That was also the case with "Ballads of the Past."
I always describe it as stepping into a warm bath. It's just very comfortable and very easy.

Cockle stated that he is ready to voice Geralt for as long as CD Projekt Red wants to work with him. John Schwab, the English voice of Dandelion, also enthusiastically returned to the role.

"Ballads of the Past" will be released in 2027 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
