Creators of "Sekiro: No Defeat" Show Wolf and Genichiro Duel Before Premiere

The limited theatrical release of the Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice adaptation begins on September 4.

KADOKAWAanime's YouTube channel has published a fragment of the anime "Sekiro: No Defeat" based on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The creators showed Wolf's first encounter with Genichiro Ashina on the Silver Field.

The scene recreates the events of the FromSoftware game's prologue, when Wolf tries to lead the young Lord Kuro out of Ashina Castle, but Genichiro blocks their path. The battle ends with Wolf losing his left arm, which will later be replaced by a prosthetic with a grappling hook, flamethrower, and other devices.

"Sekiro: No Defeat" will adapt the story of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice into an anime series. The original voice actors from the game have returned to their roles, including Daisuke Namikawa as Wolf, Miyuki Sato as Kuro, and Kenjiro Tsuda as Genichiro.

The production is handled by Qzil.la studio. Kenichi Kutsuna serves as director, Takuya Sato wrote the script, Takahiro Kishida designed the characters, and Takashi Mukoda is in charge of battle scene direction.

The limited theatrical release of "Sekiro: No Defeat" in Japan begins on September 4, 2026. The anime will later appear on Crunchyroll, but the digital release date has not yet been announced.
