Have Rebel Wolves Tamed Unreal Engine 5? The Blood of Dawnwalker Surprises with Optimization

The Blood of Dawnwalker performs quite well technically: the game on Unreal Engine 5 shows stable performance on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X without constant stutters and crashes.

According to IGN, on a PC with a Ryzen 7 9850X3D, 32 GB RAM, and an RTX 5090, the game delivers around 70–80 FPS in 4K on ultra settings with DLSS Quality. Moreover, no characteristic constant stutters are observed during gameplay.

On a Steam Machine at 1440p and predominantly medium settings, one can get around 55–60 FPS, also without noticeable stuttering.

Console versions also show good results. On PS5 and Xbox Series X, the game runs smoothly, albeit with some graphical limitations. PS5 Pro delivers around 60 FPS in performance mode, and Xbox Series X approximately 40–50 FPS in balanced mode. These are preliminary observations, not precise measurements.

The game looks best on a powerful PC. On consoles, the detail and density of vegetation – important elements of The Blood of Dawnwalker's world – are reduced.
