Sydney Sweeney is still a contender for a major role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - insider
Previously, the actress was named one of the contenders for the role of Emma Frost in the X-Men reboot, but Samara Weaving will ultimately play the character.
Sydney Sweeney may still join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to insider MyTimeToShineHello, the actress is in “serious negotiations” for a major role, but the character's name and potential project are being kept secret for now.
In the spring, the same source named Sweeney as one of the contenders for the role of Emma Frost in the X-Men reboot. Ultimately, Marvel Studios chose Samara Weaving, who was officially introduced at D23 in August.
Sweeney has already appeared in a Marvel comic book adaptation. She played Julia Carpenter in the failed “Madame Web,” but the film belongs to a separate Sony franchise. Now, the discussion is about a role directly in the Marvel Studios Cinematic Universe, but for now, this information should be taken purely as a rumor.
