Riot Games and Hypixel Studios to Fund Technoblade Documentary
Technoblade Never Dies will tell the story of the legendary Minecraft player.
According to Variety, Riot Games and Hypixel Studios will fund the feature-length documentary Technoblade Never Dies about the life and legacy of the famous Minecraft content creator. The project is being created with the full support of Technoblade's family, and all profits from the film for Riot Games and Hypixel Studios will go to charity.
Technoblade, whose real name was Alex, died of sarcoma in June 2022 at the age of 23. During his career, he became one of the biggest Minecraft creators and gathered a multi-million strong community around him.
Technoblade Never Dies is being produced by Candle True Stories. In creating the film, the creators use hundreds of hours of Technoblade's archival footage, interviews with his relatives and friends, as well as stories from fans around the world:
"Through close conversations with his family and friends, hundreds of hours of Technoblade's own footage, and stories from the enormous community he inspired, the film will tell how a shy and unknown teenager from California transformed into a Minecraft warrior whose humor, skill, and vibrant personality captivated millions."
Special attention will be paid to the community Technoblade left behind and his relationship with the blogger's family, especially with his father Marshall, known to fans as Mr. Technodad.
Director Stephen Lake described Technoblade Never Dies as a film about the positive side of the internet and video games:
"Technoblade Never Dies is a heartfelt exploration of the positive power of the internet and video games. Technoblade's story tells of the mark left by the people we love."
The release date is not yet known.
