Nintendo Switch 2 received VRR technology support, which the console should have had at launch

Better late than never.

Nintendo released version 23.0.0 update for Switch 2, which brought several notable innovations to the console. The main one was the support for VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) technology when connecting the console to a TV via a docking station.

VRR allows compatible TVs to dynamically adjust the screen refresh rate to the frame rate output by the game, making the image smoother.

Notably, Nintendo assured that Switch 2 would support VRR at launch. However, mentions of the technology suddenly disappeared from the console's official pages, and the Switch 2 went on sale without VRR.

Another important innovation was the ability to perform a full system transfer from one Switch 2 to another.

In addition, Nintendo added a small but nostalgic change to the Mii editor. Now, background music can be enabled while creating a character. Players have access to themes from Mii Maker on Wii, Nintendo 3DS, and Wii U, allowing the Mii creation process to be accompanied by familiar compositions from previous generations of Nintendo consoles.
