More than a third of Ghost of Yōtei's sales revenue came from physical editions of the game.

Physical copies still bring PlayStation big money, a new study by Alinea Analytics has shown. Specifically, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has generated approximately $1.2 billion in gross revenue since its release, with about 35% of that amount coming from physical versions of the game.

Ghost of Yōtei brought in about $400 million, with discs accounting for 37.6% of the revenue. For Astro Bot, with a total revenue of approximately $275 million, the share of physical sales reached 46.8%, and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach earned about $129 million on PlayStation, of which 41.8% came from physical copies.

It is important to note that this refers to revenue, not the number of copies sold. A physical version brings less money to the publisher from each sale: part of the amount is taken by stores, and the production, packaging, and logistics of discs also require additional costs.
