Diablo IV almost completely recreated the locations of the first Diablo, and a BioWare veteran was brought in to create the new game
Blizzard Entertainment is currently preparing for the launch of Season 15 of Diablo IV. The developers have prepared several activities for the “Hell's Legacy” season. For example, players will be able to fight old enemies and see familiar locations.
This will be possible thanks to “Waking Nightmares”. Owen Leach, responsible for creating seasons, said that the team “recreated key moments from previous Diablo games, but in the artistic style of Diablo IV and with the engaging gameplay of the fourth installment.”
The activity is divided into three types: greatest, ordinary, and minor waking nightmares — these can be small events; standard or multi-level dungeons that recreate levels from the old Diablo.
The developer said that the Diablo IV team recreated “almost all” of the first Diablo:
You start in Tristram Cathedral, fight your way to the catacombs, descend into the caves, and then, of course, enter Hell itself to defeat the Big Red, the Dark Lord, the Lord of Terror — Diablo.
In Season 15, Diablo IV players will be able to fight the echo of Diablo and more. There will also be an opportunity to unlock “needles of evil” that empower the character with the strength of one of the bosses.
