HBO finds new Moaning Myrtle for the second season of the "Harry Potter" series

Preparation for the production of the second season is in full swing.

Filming for the second season of the "Harry Potter" series is set to begin very soon, so HBO is gradually introducing viewers to new cast members. This time, the company presented the actress who will play Moaning Myrtle – the ghost of a former Hogwarts student who resides in one of the school's bathrooms. She will be played by Molly Hewitt-Richards, known for the crime drama "The Silence Code".

Along with Hewitt-Richards, Rafe Spall as Arthur Weasley and Jasper Ambrose as Colin Creevey have joined the continuation. Earlier, other newcomers were also announced: Kit Harington will play Gilderoy Lockhart, Lenny Rush – Dobby, and Billy Barratt will appear as Tom Riddle.

The first season of the series will be released on HBO and HBO Max on December 25, 2026. The premiere date for the second season, based on "The Chamber of Secrets," has not yet been announced.
