HBO Confirms The Last of Us Season 3 Release in 2027
The continuation will show the story from Abby's perspective, played by Kaitlyn Dever.
Recently, HBO has been reluctant to share new information about the third season of The Last of Us, but in a fresh interview with Deadline, company head Casey Bloys confirmed that its premiere is still scheduled for 2027.
In addition, Bloys for the first time admitted that the third season might be the last for the series:
“I think Craig Mazin has planned it as the final season.”
He previously said that the showrunner still needs to decide on the structure of the continuation: whether to conclude the story with one large season or break the remaining events into two smaller seasons. Judging by Bloys' new comment, Mazin is leaning towards the first option, but HBO has not yet officially confirmed the end of The Last of Us after the third season.

The continuation will focus on Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever, and will show the events of The Last of Us Part II from her perspective. The exact premiere date is still unknown.
