Star Trek: Space to be brought to Russia without localization - a board game for "Captain Sonar" fans
Users from Russia will be able to embark on the "Star Trek" universe with the board game Star Trek: Space. It will not receive full localization, but there is no in-game text on the components - only ship and character names. In addition, the publisher Choo Choo Games will translate the rules.
The publisher Choo Choo Games decided to please fans of the board game "Captain Sonar". It announced that it would introduce users from Russia to a project such as Star Trek: Space.

The team will bring this game without localization, but there's no need to be upset about it. There is no in-game text on the components — only ship and character names; you won't have to read anything during the game. The only thing that needs to be translated is the rules, and Choo Choo Games employees will help gamers with that.
Star Trek: Space Hunt is an official adaptation and reinterpretation of the real-time hidden movement game system from "Captain Sonar", which has been transferred to the science fiction universe of "Star Trek" (the same game designers were involved in the development — Roberto Fraga and Yoann Levet).

The game is designed for 2–4 players, and a game takes about 30 minutes — noticeably more compact and democratic in composition than in "Captain Sonar". A turn-based mode has appeared — for those who like the mechanics themselves but are not ready for the real-time madness with shouting across the table.
Players' ships are asymmetrical — each has its own energy requirements for actions, and this creates a difference in approaches. The "Surface" action now reveals the exact position of the participant, not just the sector, as before — the risk has become more tangible.

“Hyperspace” has been added — a mechanic that speeds up movement at the cost of vulnerability to warp-speed ships. And intermediate goals have appeared: a player can destroy enemy bases even before reaching their ship.
Choo Choo Games will bring only 500 copies of Star Trek: Space (without reprinting). The team will pick up the game from the factory at the end of September, pre-orders may open at the end of October, and delivery should be expected in November – December.
