Critics highly praised CONTROL Resonant, specifically noting Remedy Entertainment's bold decisions, unusual art style, combat system, and movement mechanics. Reviews call Resonant one of the most inventive games of recent years and the studio's artistic peak.

According to critics, the sequel is as similar to the original Control as it is different. One reviewer noted that it was quite risky for Remedy to turn a shooter into an action RPG, but this risk ultimately paid off completely.

Among the drawbacks, reviewers mention a slow-starting plot, a boring main character, and overly drawn-out battles with enemies and bosses. Fights with the latter are called almost a test of the nervous system's endurance — due to their enormous health, they have to be chipped away at for 5 minutes.

Control Resonant is an incredibly confident and engaging sequel that possesses all the hallmarks of classic Remedy games. The project captivates with its style and playful mood; it looks magnificent — especially on PS5 Pro — and successfully corrects many of the flaws that annoyed me in the original Control. However, one serious obstacle still prevents the game from achieving true greatness: its monotonous combat scenes.

Remedy's boldest experiment, successfully transplanting its signature style into the open-world action RPG genre. The plot, characters, world design, exploration, customization options, and atmosphere here are magnificent, while the combat system is just good, and it is precisely this that somewhat restrains the game's potential.
