Warhammer 40,000 to get new Aquilon Terminator miniatures and "Codex: Adeptus Custodes"

Fans of the Emperor's bodyguards from the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop game will soon receive new Custodian miniatures clad in "Aquilon" Terminator armor, "Codex: Adeptus Custodes" for the 11th edition, and a new Combat Patrol box with a Shield-Captain, Venatari, Guards, and a "Contemptor-Achillus" Dreadnought.

At The Big Summer Warhammer Preview Show 2026 event, the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop game team unveiled new Custodian miniatures clad in "Aquilon" Terminator armor.

They are armed with "Lastrum" storm bolters and swift "Solerite" power claws, or adrathic combi-destructors and crushing "Solerite" power gauntlets.

These veteran warriors are incredibly resilient and capable of destroying units many times their number. Their miniatures are covered in intricate decorative details, making each Terminator a worthy display piece.

The new Aquilon Terminators can be used in both the Age of Darkness and the 41st Millennium. Their rules for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy can be found in the army book "Liber Custodes: Forces of the Emperor," and their rules for Warhammer 40,000 will be in the new "Codex: Adeptus Custodes."

The standard softcover edition of "Codex: Adeptus Custodes" contains lore, guides, and army rules. The Codex also marks a significant change for the Adeptus Custodes faction, as its datasheets have been fundamentally rescaled.

Expect a Combat Patrol containing a Shield-Captain, six Guards, three Venatari, and a "Contemptor-Achillus" Dreadnought. As with other new 11th edition codices, players will be able to purchase a faction command set containing reference cards and useful tokens.

The release of this new codex coincides with a whole host of newer Custodian kits receiving standalone releases that can be used in both Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer: The Horus Heresy.

The following kits will receive new packaging with logos for both game systems: Shield Captain, Custodian Guard Sodality, Sentinel Guard Sodality, Venatari Sodality, Custodian Dreadnought, Telemon Heavy Dreadnought, Gyrfalcon Jetbike Sodality, Pallas Grav-attack, Caladius Grav-tank, Caladius Annihilator Grav-tank, Coronus Grav-carrier.
