Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski spoke about the timeline for working on the next novel in "The Witcher" universe. At the Copernicon festival in Toruń, the author stated that he expects to complete the manuscript by the end of 2027, but noted that plans might change:

"Theoretically, I should finish the new Witcher book by the end of next year, but, of course, everything can change."

Sapkowski has not yet revealed the plot details. It is only known that Geralt will once again be the main character, but it is unknown whether the novel will be a continuation of the young witcher's story, which began in "Crossroads of Ravens," or will take a different place in the cycle's chronology.

The writer also stated that he does not plan to release spin-offs about Yennefer and other minor characters, as he sees no point in it.

If Sapkowski indeed completes the work in 2027, the Polish edition of the novel may be released in 2028, and international editions will likely appear closer to 2029.
