Looter-shooter about evil mushrooms Mycopunk gets release date

Devolver Digital has released a new trailer for the game.

The cooperative first-person shooter Mycopunk will leave early access on October 20. The game will also become available to PlayStation Plus subscribers in the game catalog.

In Mycopunk, players join the New Atlas Hazard Crew — a team of hapless robots with unique gadgets. On behalf of the SAXON corporation, they will have to travel to planets engulfed by a mysterious fungal threat and deal with the consequences of the disaster.

One of Mycopunk's main features will be its weapon customization system. Players will be able to use futuristic guns and tools, then upgrade them with a grid-based modification system, creating their own combinations of characteristics and unusual weapons.

During battles, players will have to destroy huge groups of enemies that can infect and use the planet's technology against the players themselves.

The developers are betting on cooperative combinations. Characters can combine enhanced abilities and modified weapons, creating synergistic builds for joint combat against enemies. However, the game can also be played solo.

Mycopunk will be available on PC and PS5.
