Total War: Warhammer III Gameplay to be Accelerated - Update 9.0 Will Change Game Pace
Turns are expected to complete faster.
The developers of the global strategy game Total War: Warhammer III presented a diary dedicated to the upcoming update 9.0. The update includes not only technical fixes and free content, but also a number of gameplay changes.
Gameplay will be accelerated, for example, turn completion time will be reduced (a reduction of up to 30% is expected). Resource costs for arsenal management and unit ability selection will also be reduced.
Some other changes and improvements:
- Reworked command issuance system by VFX (visual effects), which will reduce overall CPU load and improve performance
- Optimized faction influence map generation
- Improved granularity (detail) of worker thread tasks
- Various minor optimization improvements
Improvements have also been made to artificial intelligence. The developers noted that sometimes situations arose where the AI spent too much time recruiting units in situations where recruitment was unlikely to succeed.
Now, the campaign AI will store a history of when and where attempts were made to recruit units into the army. This will allow it to “better recognize failed recruitment attempts and prioritize other options.” If recruitment repeatedly proves unsuccessful, the AI will focus on other tasks. This is expected to make the recruitment process more efficient, and the AI should reach full combat readiness faster.
In addition, the developers have updated the algorithm for forming AI armies, especially at higher campaign levels — more elite units will be seen at higher difficulty levels.
