Cyberpsychosis overtakes Night City's former "king" in a clip from the anime "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2"

The sequel will tell a standalone story of retribution and redemption.

Netflix has unveiled a new clip from the anime "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2," focusing on Night City's former "king," Wick Kingsley. He was once considered one of the city's best mercenaries until his abuse of implants led him to cyberpsychosis.

The second season will tell a standalone story within the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, dedicated to retribution and redemption. Kingsley will be one of the four central characters in the sequel. Joining him in the story will be netrunner Dee, who is searching for his clan's killer, cinephile Roman Karax, and Talia Young — a former corpo who joined the Maelstrom gang.

Studio Trigger is once again responsible for the production of the second season. Kai Ikarashi, who previously directed the sixth episode of "Edgerunners," took the director's chair. The script was written by Masahiko Otsuka, and character design was developed by Ichigo Kanno. Bartosz Sztybor, who worked on the first season, returned to the project as showrunner and producer.

"Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2" will consist of ten episodes. The premiere will take place on Netflix on October 20, 2026.
