James Gunn announced that he has already started working on the script for his next film after "Superman":
"Already working! I had to do something while I was waiting for the rough cut!"

Gunn did not specify which film he is working on. The words about "rough cut" refer to "Superman"; filming for the "Superman" sequel concluded in August, after which the picture moved into the post-production stage. Gunn decided to use his free time to work on the script for his next project.
"Superman" will be released in theaters on July 9, 2027.
