Engineer Assembles Giant Version of Game Boy Color Special Edition with Huge Pokemon Yellow Cartridge
Giant gamers will surely be delighted by a rather unusual version of the Game Boy Color Special Edition portable console from engineer Nick Alvarez. You can easily play Pokemon Yellow on it, but an ordinary person will need both hands to insert the cartridge into such a device.
Engineer Nick Alvarez, also known as NickBuildsStuff, surprised users with his latest creation. He assembled a large version of the Game Boy Color Special Edition portable console with Pikachu and other Pokemon on the front panel.
Nick makes a living creating unusual retro hardware. In the past, he has already made huge Game Boys and Game Boy Colors, but it is this Special Edition version, along with the giant Pokemon Yellow cartridge, that has captivated the internet, garnering over 1.3 million views on TikTok and almost a million on YouTube.
To insert this cartridge, you need both hands, and, judging by Nick's other creations, there are probably giant AA batteries inside this thing at the back.
The detail of Nick's work deserves praise. From the colored buttons to the speaker grille and the characters on the screen, it's a perfect full-scale replica that also works.
The video above shows that Nick can launch Pokemon Yellow and play it fully. The console even has a port for a link cable and a rotating volume wheel. And the screen is simply huge.
