Medieval Strategy Game in the Spirit of Tetris, Drop Duchy, Released on Android and iOS
The game combines mechanics from Tetris, city-building simulators, and card roguelikes.
Doghowl Games has released the mobile version of Drop Duchy by Sleepy Mill Studio — the game is now available on Android and iOS. The project was originally released on PC on May 5, 2025, and received 89% positive reviews on Steam based on almost three thousand reviews.
Drop Duchy transforms falling Tetris-like blocks into sections of a medieval duchy. The player places forests, rivers, and plains on the field, erects production buildings, and assembles an army. Along with the player's own structures, enemy ones also fall from above, and their placement must also be chosen by the player.
After the field is filled, a battle begins. Allied units can be combined, and the order of attacks must be chosen considering the characteristics of archers, swordsmen, and axemen. Between battles, the player moves across a map with branching paths, replenishes their deck, and upgrades buildings. Completing challenges unlocks new cards and permanent bonuses for subsequent runs.
The mobile version is distributed under a "try before you buy" model. The game can be downloaded for free to play an introductory segment, while the full version will cost 475 rubles.
